Olbrechts BV is a horticultural company that has been in business for three generations tomato cultivation. Since 2013, we have switched completely to cherry tomatoes. We also take care of sorting and packaging ourselves. The tomatoes are produced according to the conditions of the Flandria label, which stands for quality, freshness and environmentally conscious cultivation. 

For growing cherry tomatoes, water quality and root health are important concerns. In late July 2025, catalytic ultrasonic emitters from Ultramins were installed in the irrigation system. Shortly after installation, we noticed that the drain water became clearer and existing biofilm in basement, silos and basin loosened up. Which was impressive! The placement was also accompanied by a drop in iron levels in the drain water, which was not immediately the intended effect. (Addition by Ultramins: We suspect that the plants absorbed the iron better, that therefore less iron remains in the drain water, this will be investigated further).

Before installation, there were symptoms of crazy roots visible. After the transmitters were installed, this problem occurred did not develop further and the root picture remained more stable than before.

The cooperation with Ultramins went smoothly. In case of a defective transmitter, a replacement device was delivered quickly and correctly, which is a great advantage during the growing season. Based on these experiences, Ultramins's solution appears to be a solid useful support within irrigation management.
