Family Fresh Farms - Patrick de Craen - Baby Cucumbers - Australia
For several months, we have been using USAF™ transmitters from Ultramins in our entire water chain, from basin to day supply.
I am the (Dutch) site manager at Family Fresh Farms in Australia, where we grow Qukes™ Baby Cucumbers in two high-tech greenhouses of 2.5 hectares each.
I was already familiar with the transmitters through a contact in the Netherlands who had very good experiences with them in cucumber cultivation. This piqued my interest and I was curious whether the transmitters would also be effective under the extreme climate conditions here in Australia. Our aim was to control algae and biofilm and reduce viral pressure from the water. At the time of installation, we were already using UV filters and nanobubble generators, among other things. Shortly after installation, we already saw a positive effect on water quality; pathogen pressure decreased.
What extra surprised me, however, was the excellent cooperation with the nanobubbles! It was only after adding the USAF™ emitters that oxygen levels in the water began to rise significantly, which was clearly visible in improved root development. Even at extreme temperatures and high sunlight, the transmitters worked extremely well for controlling algae in the basin water. In addition, we found that no waterborne virus was present in the drain water. What else stands out is that our misting/misting system no longer clogs up, which saves us a lot of time and therefore costs.
In short, we are very satisfied with this investment; the transmitters have significantly improved our water quality and certainly help increase production per square metre. We are also positive about Ultramins: their support and service are of a high standard and they provided us with excellent guidance.
