Situation: E-coli problems in fresh water silo

We approached Ultramins about two years ago to discuss the usage of the USAF™ technology in our water system. E-coli bacteria was found in the 680m3 fresh water storage, which was a great concern. Besides the fresh water storage, we have two drain silo’s.

For disinfection of the drain water we use UV, but we were not getting the results we hoped for.

We also use reverse osmosis before the water goes into the 680m3 storage tank where we add regular H202. The water will last for max 2-3 days on a hot summer day, meaning we need to treat the water in a limited time frame.

After consulting with Ultramins, we placed 3 DT100’s in the fresh water storage and for the drains 1 DT-100 each. Ultramins predicted that the cavitation technology would eliminate not only the E-coli, but also prevent the build-up of biofilm.

The be honest, the results were above our expectations! The E-coli levels dropped to non-detectable levels and we even shut-off the UV. Another great benefit is how easy it is to use and there are hardly any operational costs, or maintenance! Conclusion: we are happy with the decision we took to go for this new technology and we recommend it to anyone visiting our site but also in general!
