PCR tests confirm this<\/p>\n

Various tests have been performed in a greenhouse of Dutch tomate\ngrower Ron Peters, commissioned by Luykx Ultrasound and\nUltramins, in order to measure USAF ultrasonic transmitters' effects\non the Tomato brown rugose fruit virus. The results show that these\ntransmitters can control the waterborne virus very well.<\/p>\n

People, equipment, and contaminated drainage water can infect\ntomato plants. \"But,\" says Robert de Hoo with Ultramins, \"there aren't\nyet any watertight solutions for virus-contaminated water.\"<\/p>\n

The NWVA certified the Ron Peters to run trials with the dreaded\nToBRF virus. The farm has been cultivating crops for over 45 years.\nOver the last eight years, the grower has become specialized in\ninfecting all kinds of crops with various viruses, including the\ncucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) and the ToBRFV.<\/p>\n

Ron Peters has been doing several tests since the start of 2021.\nThose are on behalf of Luykx Ultrasound and Ultramins. They want to\nsee how USAF ultrasonic transmitters affect the ToBRFV. Luykx\nUltrasound manufactures these USAF ultrasonic transmitters.\nUltramins is their sole distributor.<\/p>\n

Practical tests<\/strong>
\nDifferent practical experiments were\ndone. The plants were only watered,\nwhich excluded the possibility of\nmechanical contamination. The\ngreenhouse was also sealed to keep\ninsects and birds out. For these\ntests, highly contaminated water was\nused.<\/p>\n

\"A grower would never have these\nlevels of ToBRFV is their cultivation\nwater. We juiced 12 kilograms of\ncontaminated tomatoes, leaves, and\nstems. We then kept adding that to\n100 liters of water,\" says Ron.<\/p>\n

The results are promising, he shares:\n\"The plants that received untreated\nvirus water showed signs of\ncontamination within two to eight\nweeks. They visibly deteriorated.\nThose getting the water treated by\nthe USAF ultrasonic transmitters showed no disease images at all.\nThey grew beautifully.\"<\/p>\n

Ct-values<\/strong>
\n\"Throughout the process, we took several leaf samples and carried\nout PCR testing on these. These results confirmed what we already\nsuspected: Ct values were shown to significantly reduce, if not\ncompletely eliminate, the chance of decontamination. Even in this\nfilthy water,\" continues Ron. \"The lowest Ct value found was 30.68. Two tests were done per leaf\nsample. And not once were those below 32. I don't doubt that this\nUSAF system works. It has major advantages over UV systems or a\ngas disinfector too. You don't have to maintain or monitor this system\neither.\"<\/p>\n

Robert de Hoo owns Ultramins and is delighted with the findings. \"The\nfact that using cultivation water to do something about reinfection is\ngood news. We want to thank Ron again for his expertise, patience,\nand clear explanations. They were helpful, instructive trajectories.\"\n\"Previous tests already proved that our USAF transmitters kill algae,\nbiofilm, bacteria, and fungi. So it's great to know that we can also use\ncultivation water to combat ToBRFV and thus other viruses. we can do\nso in the same way and at the same time.\"<\/p>\n

\"We're always open to growers or grower associations who want to\nset up these new tests with us. Our USAF\u2122 ultrasonic transmitters\nare easy to place in silos, wells, or basins. They require no\nmaintenance, operate 24\/7, are environmentally friendly, and operate\nat low costs,\" Robert concludes.<\/p>\n
